Body and all inner supports are completely made of plastic. No visible heat sink or other cooling. I installed a 9.5mm SSD to transfer data between computers (like Snickernet). I'm not sure how well this device will cool the installed drive if it's in constant use, such as for continuous backups. It's nice that it comes with a 20-inch USB-C to USB-C cable. The transmission speed seems to be good. I'm getting the maximum speed I can expect from a Corsair SATA III SSD, over 5Gbps.
