Review on Comprehensive 66-Piece Oscillating Tool Blades Kit For Fein Multimaster, Bosch, Makita, Milwaukee, Rockwell, Ryobi, Craftsman, Ridgid - Accessories To Enhance Performance by Randy Brimmer

Good starter set of multi-tool accessories

This is described as a "66-piece” accessory kit. There are 14 blades and two sanding bases, so there must be about 50 pieces of sandpaper.Buying an assortment of parts is often a "mixed bag.” On one hand, the assortment gives you a sampling of what’s available, so you can try different things to determine what is most useful for your own purposes. On the other hand, you may end up with items you don’t need.If you’ve been using an oscillating tool for a long time, you already know your usage patterns, and you can just buy the specific blades that meet your needs. On the other hand, if you are still trying to figure out possible usages for the tool, this kit provides a good, useful assortment that will probably help you find new uses. There are several scraping blades, a good variety of cutting blades (mostly for wood and soft metals), and a couple of sanding bases. An oscillating tool is not the ideal tool for sanding — the side-to-side action can leave scratches that are hard to remove — but there are some cases where it’s the best option. There are two different sanding bases and an assortment of hook-an-loop sandpaper. There are also a couple of carbide blades for tile and concrete. I'm glad to see these included in this kit, because they among the more expensive types of blades to buy individually.All-in-all, this is a useful "starter” collection of oscillating tool accessories, and it’s less expensive than buying all these blades separately.

Pros
  • Great assortment
Cons
  • The overall quality of the blades in the kit might not be up to par, causing them to slip or twist while in use and affecting their accuracy
