If the problem with my double door was an enlarged bottom pivot hole in the door this repair would be an easy fix. Unfortunately that wasn't the problem. After removing the door and laying it on the floor, I discovered that the cheap fiberboard floor panel that supported the door was cracked. This resulted in the bottom pin no longer supporting the door, and the door dragging along the floor as it opened and closed. I attached the fiberboard by adding glue to the crack and gluing the fiberboard together. After drying, I found that the pre-drilled mounting hole for the bottom hinge had grown larger, causing the existing hinge to become too loose and fall out. One of the hinge assemblies in the new double door hinge kit was larger than the old one on the door and fitted snugly into the enlarged opening. Another do-it-yourself renovation was completed which impressed my wife.
