I originally purchased this product before my baby was born. I wanted to be able to warm up my car in winter so I didn't have to leave it in the cold. The same goes for summer and extreme heat. The range to start the car is large. I started the car from my office about 80 meters away and it started. I could get more range if I started it by holding it to my chin. Not sure why it works but it works. When I got to my car, it had already started to heat up/cool down. I also like the security features. This prevents you from driving unless you put the key in the ignition switch and turn it to a certain position. If you step on the brakes or accelerate without a key, the car will stall. I'm not sure if there's a way to open the trunk with the remote, so I'll keep it on my key and use that. I have owned this product for 8 years now and have lost my antenna cap due to too many key drops. The last time this happened I lost the internal coil and was unable to remote start the car. I ordered a replacement unit from Revain and it synced quickly and now I'm back in business :).
