As mentioned in some other reviews, the antenna initially showed an SWR of 4:1 to 6:1 at 2 meters. However, the ends were not soldered like in other cases, so it was quite easy to open the ends. After measurements it turned out that the wires are longer than 1/2 meter. I had to snip a good 5 inches off either side before it showed a good SWR range of 1.5:1 at 144, 1.35:1 at 145.1 and back to 1.5:1 at 147. After this setup I was able to hit a repeater 10 miles from my house with a basic 5w PDA and antenna out a second floor window of my house with a good 5/9. For me it works almost as well (or even better) than the MFJ 5/8 car antenna which costs 3 times more. One star off for almost useless documentation. You need to understand what an antenna is if you want to tune it.
