The solution to the problem of plastic abuse is plastic used in the right way!

For starters, we can all agree that plastic headlights suck! However, I just finished wrapping my Civic 97's headlights, which are curved and have a seam between the headlight and turn signals. I took my time and followed the instructions - I actually read them cover to cover 3 times - and so far at least they look great! I'm impressed with the quality of the film, it should last a few years. If I were to leave the car I would apply two coats but as it will be for sale I only used one but left a strip at the top for the owner to easily remove in the future if it gets cloudy. I have a couple of small stains on the edges of the mount that I'll be sure to put down and tape up tomorrow - they're not on the lens, just on the flat part around the reflector, not visible after mounting and the car wash guard, etc. . this can lead to raised edges. In fact I'm so impressed that I can just buy new lenses for my Volvo 245SE and another set of them. My lenses are blurry as hell, and new plastic costs three times less than glass lenses, so even adding that cost makes it more economical. And I don't drive a 30 year old car because I'm a car fanatic (although I am), but because I'm a curmudgeon! This vintage Volvo is one of the most reliable, low maintenance and safest cars on the road. It has over 400,000 miles on the clock and the engine and gearbox have never had to be repaired. I drive about 475 miles round trip to Virginia State Hospital and average 85 mph and 28 mpg when the roads are clear - 3 round trips. On the other hand I'm starting to like this Honda and I was a factory Honda technician before I retired so I'm pretty sure this Honda will get at least 200,000 miles before it dies!
