The liner would be much more useful if its bottom was deeper in the pot. I had to use a lot more water to cook the pasta and it took a very long time for the water to boil considering I didn't cook a full pot of pasta. The insert is too short and I don't think more than two batches of pasta will fit and cook evenly. The insert was thrown in the garage because we don't use it at all. The metal isn't as thick as the more expensive All Clad pans, but at least this pan is a little more affordable. It has a thick base, but so far it hasn't impressed me with its preparation. I'm not a fan of polished finishes on the outside.
