Review on Enhance Performance with Solberg FS 04 038 Filter Silencer Diameter: Reliable Solution for Efficient Filtration by James Jenkins

Solberg FS-04-038 replaces the poor quality air filter that came with my recently purchased Dewalt D55168 225 PSI air filter . Compressor. The air filter housing they supply is made of inferior plastic. One of the thin plastic latches holding the cover and filter element in place broke causing the filter to fall out and onto the floor. This can be due to vibration, low temperature, shipping damage, improper handling during installation, or all of the above. There are no identifying marks on the filter body or on the filter element - see attached photo of the filters for comparison. Someone cuts off and supplies this substandard component with their own compressors. I ordered a Solberg FS-04-038 to replace a broken OEM component. Doesn't matter! Solberg is made of durable metal with its own filter element. The new element is embossed with "Made in the USA" and the patent number. It's perfect for the compressor. I didn't notice a reduction in noise, but the cooldown (180 seconds to the 225 psi threshold) was reduced from 110 seconds to 90 seconds. This indicates that there are fewer limitations with the Solberg air filter product. Replace and upgrade inferior OEM filters and filter housings now. The attached photo shows intact and broken latches on the lower plastic filter housing. The remaining latch could be easily broken with minimal effort. The plastic has gone in the trash where it belongs.
