Having had a set of these mirrors about 15 years ago I was happy to see they were still in stock when I got to the van about 10 years later returned. break up with him. The new mirrors are essentially the same as the ones I had before, however there were some quality control issues. The threads in the mirror housing where the "set screw" thread is located are not very well cut. In fact, the first pair I ordered had stripped the threads on the set screw when I first inserted them. When I got my second set in exchange I knew I had to keep an eye on it and used a 3/8-16 hand tap to clean out the threads before ever putting in a set screw. Applying some Vaseline to the threads also helped when first inserting them. I also accidentally found a set of metal set screws with plastic handles at my local hardware store and replaced the plastic screws that came with the mirrors. I'm finally happy with the mirrors and am considering another kit for another car.
