With Windows 10 I just plugged it into a USB3.0 socket, plugged in an Ethernet cable, turned on the computer, 2 lights on the device came on shortly after booting up. The internet icon has been enabled on the taskbar screen. There is internet, I checked the speed; 90 MPS down, 26 downloads. Got 25 MPS down, 20 up with USB2 and WIFI. The ethernet circuit on this motherboard stopped working, then I got a new MB, but I used it on another computer. StarTech came with an installation disc, but Win 10 was ready for it and I didn't need to use it. I've never had an ethernet circuit on the MB. So if your motherboard's ethernet isn't working and WiFi is too slow for you, this is the way to go.
