Ideal for upgrading older systems with M.2 SSDs

Hooked up a Samsung 960 EVO, hooked it up to my old 2nd gen Sandy Bridge i7 board and installed the Windows 7 drivers. Everything worked fine and I got the new partition up and running in minutes. Could be a bit cheaper and maybe include a half height mount. NOTES FOR WINDOWS 7: Anyone complaining that they can't find Windows 7 drivers for this card should understand that this card DOES NOT NEED DRIVERS. The card is a dumb adapter that allows you to plug a PCI Express attached NVMe m.2 drive into a standard PCIe slot on a desktop or server computer. The driver is provided by both Microsoft and the manufacturer of the small hard drive you purchased. Native NVME support was added to Windows 7 via updates and is natively supported by Windows 8.1/Server 2012. Also: you cannot download or install Windows 7 directly onto an NVMe drive as NVMe was adopted much later when Windows 7 was released back in 2009. If you know how to install drivers during the Windows 7 setup process or the Using Windows 7 installation tools to create a new installation image for NVMe driver updates, you should be able to install Windows 7 on NVMe.
