Review on πŸ’Ύ INDMEM 256GB mSATA SSD Internal Mini SATA 3 SSD Micro-SATA MLC 3D NAND Flash by Rob Bradford

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Reliable product 2 of 3

I bought one of these 4 months ago to install in an old hp2540p laptop and was so pleased I bought 2 more for more of these laptops (I have several 2540p and 2530p laptops). for children). If you connect it to a Micro-SATA to MSATA adapter, it fits perfectly in the 3D-printed item #4106322. The two that work are fine for the task. They don't get very hot and run much faster than the old 1.8" drive it replaced. As I later noticed, the one that failed is different from the other two that work (all 256G models). Check out the attached pictures to see the difference. .The one that failed has two fewer memory chips with solder balls while the other has memory chips. Maybe it just has two bigger chips in this model, but who knows. All I know is that it fell out on me. This one seemed normal first. I started cloning my drive with dd on Linux. When I came back to check it a few hours later, I noticed that dd had thrown an error, but it looks like it went through the original (smaller) disk, so I have it as a dd oddity chalked. I disabled it and connected to my main computer to check the content. He looked good. Both Windows and Linux partitions seemed to be there and I was able to mount them. That was the last time I got him to reply. The next time I plugged it into my USB adapter to test it again before installing it on my computer, it wouldn't read. As soon as I connect it to the USB adapter, the computer registers the complete USB disconnection of that adapter. Anyway, I've requested a replacement from Revain and will be returning this defective one. Hoping for another worker.
