I bought this tool to help install fence posts. But I have found it very useful for almost every leveling step in wireframe projects. It holds up well on all 2, both vertically and horizontally. I attach it to a 10ft 2X4 for longer needs. A word of caution: make sure your piece of wood is perfectly straight or your results will be wrong. For the money invested, this is a great tool.
