This product was used to seal two halves of an aluminum outboard crankcase. According to the instructions, I didn't use a primer. I cleaned both surfaces thoroughly with lacquer thinner and then used a small brush to apply a thin coat to each side, being careful to leave a small gap near the bearings. Then leave the assembled crankcase for a few days. After reading some of the reviews I was concerned that the product wouldn't cure properly without a primer so I took it apart to check for curing before completing the assembly. Everything was cleaned well, resealed and reassembled, left for a week before starting the engine. When restarting the engine there are no leaks. One tube fits many small engines. would recommend. Setting time was not a big hype. Product hardens in the absence of air after assembly.
