I didn't use them to make ice cream, instead I used them to make sugar skulls with students. Due to the inward slant of the chin, it is very difficult to remove uncured material from the front of the mold. Most students could not remove their uniforms without breaking their chins. They are of good quality and I am sure they will work as an ice cream mold. I've made some successful sugar skulls with it myself, but I wouldn't recommend buying it as a sugar skull mold for someone who isn't good at solving problems with patience.
