The cabinet I wanted to install it in only allowed the device to be installed from the front and not from the side (this was due to the length of the vacuum). Not a big problem, but you want to make sure there's enough space. It's not "short". Hole cutting was done with an oscillating tool instead of a saber saw. It seemed the easier way. Finally, I was originally going to hook it up to the under sink waste disposal, but it only works when the switch is on to recycle. Instead I ran wires to a separate electrical box. Works well and we're happy with it, but it wasn't easy to install. I wish they would offer additional faceplates. It would be nice to have a color that doesn't stand out so much.
