
I have been grilling for many years so have a lot of experience but even then I usually use an instant read thermometer. The problem is that I have to open the grill or oven every time it releases heat that convects inside and actually cooks the meat. When I cooked a whole chicken last week I took it off immediately when it hit 165 and the chicken was so juicy and moist. I've overshot a few times in the past and that few degrees difference makes a big difference. With this wireless thermometer, I can insert a probe before the meat goes in, and I can remove the rack or oven door to close it and monitor it from my living room while I watch basketball. Honestly, I can't believe I didn't get it sooner. Also bonus points for real Duracell batteries and such a nice carrying case.
