The National Electrical Code or NEC 210.23(A)(C) states that any continuously operating device must not draw more than 80% of the power for which the switch is rated. Because of this, every heater you see is rated at 1500 watts. Any higher value breaks the NEC code and the manufacturer may have problems. The next important thing to know is that all space heaters are 100% efficient at converting electricity from your wall into heat, and I mean all of them. . All current or energy is used to heat the heating elements. Remember that heat is a different form of energy and since all heaters are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat, this means that no heater is better than another.
