Review on Universal Car Rearview Mirror Mount Holder for Dash Cams - iSaddle CH205 by David Crowder

This review refers to the G1W (2014 version). Basically I am satisfied with the device. I installed it behind my car's rear view mirror and am confident it will stay securely attached no matter what hits my car. The screw ensures that it stays behind the rear view mirror. It's definitely an improvement over the mounting block that comes with the G1W, which relies on suction to stay in place. In my opinion, anything that relies on suction is unreliable and error-prone. My only issue with this unit is the pan/mount that attaches the mount to the G1W camera. The G1W swivel/nozzle has additional grooves and a clamp that provides a secure fit; the one that comes with this device is not. While driving, the car's shake will cause the swivel/nozzle to slip off and eventually your camera will detach from the mount and fall off. This does not happen with the G1W vortex/nozzle. The good news is that you can take both swivels out of their respective mounts and swap them out. With a small modification I got the perfect mount for my G1W.
