When I wanted to change grips on my 1911, a couple of the standard slotted head screws that had Loctite on them had to come out A LOT. When I loosened them some heads of the slotted screws were bent around the edges. In addition to these Torx head screws, square and hex head replacements were available. Others were available in black to match the original color which I would have preferred. This torx was only available in gold. But Torx screws were significantly more reliable in resisting stripping, which is why I went with them. They work fine.
