I usually buy Costco sponges on sale. Then one day I received a sample of walnut sponge from the Hain collective. I was extremely skeptical. but this thing lasted forever, held soap fantastically, and cleaned vigorously and gently. the white appearance was also good. I knew Grove Collective could be more expensive than good old Amazon, so I bought these sponges. they are not of the same quality as the ones I had in the grove. They were flatter/thinner, wore out quickly and didn't hold soap well. They're just a step better than the Scottish blue sponges I buy at Costco. I returned these. Regarding walnut sponges I would say that this is not a commodity and where you buy your sponge can make a significant difference in the satisfaction you get from your sponge. ps We also tested half plastic/half agave scotch scouring pads and they still came out better than these walnut scrubbers, but still two notches lower than walnut scouring pads.
