2011 Silverado HD 2500

After questioning my sanity for not being able to figure out how this cover works. I went to the Stank website as stated on the packaging for instructions on how to use it, guess what. There are no instructions. I couldn't find anything anywhere about how this thing works. I was willing to return it assuming it was faulty until I came across a reviewer on this site that pointed out some of the same issues. It's supposed to rotate 1/4 of the way and not a normal 180 degree turn to lock and then turn in the opposite direction to unlock. Here's what seems to work for me. 1 install. Twist the cap until it stops and use a ratchet.2. Insert the key, turn it all the way, turn it back and pull it out, THIS IS IMPORTANT NOW, then turn the cap clockwise again, this MUST put the cap in a locked or impossible position, it MUST turn rotate counterclockwise freely. Turn the key all the way, turn it back and remove it, this SHOULD allow the cap to be removed. You also can't attach a lanyard to it. I keep an old gas cap in the truck in case I get a fuel error message. I will use it until I find the best. The quality looks solid and the shipping and receiving time was 5 stars.
