A worthy tool for personal use
Used it to create small scale maps using transverse and radial measurement methods and I found its measurements satisfactory. It's not perfect, but good results can be achieved with a little know-how and proper instrument calibration. Once upon a time, the entire United States was only mapped using this technology. So if you know what you're doing and take your time, you can make great progress with it.
