Works great as a stake hammer, but as mentioned the stake puller is completely useless. There is also a risk of punching holes in things. I used to pack a hammer in my tent bag, but not this one. After my first attempt with a post puller led to an upright position, I simply unscrewed it and threw it away. I actually got this because I couldn't find my Hammer Couglans 9742 (100% plastic). It's almost perfect. It's lighter and has a very good balance. The stake remover is designed in the form of a hole in the handle and does not stick.
