Review on 🔌 HOGORE 7-in-1 USB C Hub Adapter: 4K HDMI, PD Charging, USB3.0, SD/TF - Compatible with iPad Pro, MacBook Pro/Air, HP Spectre, XPS 13, Surface Go/Pro X by Chris Hazzard

I bought this hoping not to have to buy a lot of expensive Apple Keys for my new MacBook Pro. I used it to connect an HDMI display and two USB devices (mouse and keyboard). I've never had to use additional ports. It seemed to work fine for a few weeks, but then it kept randomly disconnecting from OSX. I'd have to disconnect and reconnect it (putting it on the Mac ports) to register it again. Sometimes OSX would crash while doing this and didn't seem to recognize the device after reconnecting. The only way to get it working again is to restart your Mac. This eventually led to me rebooting multiple times a day while in the middle of a job. I don't necessarily blame the product for how OSX handled the shutdown, but I do believe the product is causing the shutdown. When I use it, it gets really hot. My guess is that it's not providing the necessary power to connected devices and possibly overheating in the process? I ended up ordering official Apple keys only and haven't had any issues since. I tried to save money with this product and ended up spending more than if I had just stayed with Apple. I'm surprised by all the positive reviews. Maybe my product was defective or my use case is different from others.
