I bought this to measure the acidity of various drinks to determine what to avoid for my LPR. The meter needs to be calibrated, but everything is included except distilled water, and the instructions are pretty easy to follow once you read them a few times. The only thing that let me down was the battery setting. The batteries fall vertically into the end of the meter, but the "+" and "-" symbols on the holes do not indicate whether these symbols refer to the bottom or top of the batteries. After a lot of trial and error and with several pairs of batteries, I found that the symbols represent the TOP of the batteries (the ends facing you). The counter doesn't turn on reliably, so you'll have to fiddle with it. But once activated it seems to work. The display is easy to read and the meter feels solid. I like the plastic tip cap and the nylon zippered storage bag.
