I bought one of these for the passenger side rear window of my 2001 Ford Escape three years ago. It still works. I replaced the driver's side windshield a few hours ago. I didn't learn much this time, but I watched Grease Monkey's video. All the electronics are in that door, so it pays to know exactly what you're doing. Took about 1 1/2 hours BUT I'm not a mechanic, just mechanical. So if you are comfortable tearing off door panels etc, it may take 45 minutes. tools required. Phillips screwdriver, 10mm screwdriver or socket, razor blade. Patience. ;-) Luckily the required 3 pieces of 10MM nuts were included this time. I don't know how much the auto shop will charge for this job, but I would estimate 4x or more what I paid for the part.
