Review on 📶 ARRIS SURFboard mAX Plus Mesh AX7800 Wi-Fi 6 AX Router System: Unleash Ultimate Wi-Fi 6 Speed and Coverage by Gonzalo Marshall

Installation: good quality packaging and box. The box contained a router, power cord and Cat5e cable. The instructions indicate that you need to download an app to set up the device. * note. There are several Arris Surfboard apps, make sure you use the Arris Surfboard MAX app because that's what you need to set up this device and the other is a regular surfboard. the app doesn't work * Setup was pretty easy with the app. Pros: Very high connection speed, the application has a built-in WiFi speed test function. You can also access parental controls and some basic network settings, set up guest access, view connected devices and get Alexa Skills. The range seemed pretty decent, and while you can set it up on a mesh network, I have a smaller house and I seem to get a pretty strong signal from it. Cons: Pretty limited network configuration options, and I don't like using my phone to set up a network anyway. Although so far it seems to be the only way. Parental controls are just a temporary disconnection from WiFi, you can't filter websites or anything like that. I also couldn't find a way to change the "LAN IP Address" setting so that all devices have an address of 192.168.7.x. Generally very simple settings. *** Note. I was in the middle of this review when I noticed several of my WiFi devices dropping their connection. Devices that are only a few feet away would lose connection, so range isn't the issue. This happened several times. I will update this review when I find the cause. I wasn't sure I wanted to stick with it when everything was working, but devices losing connection make me think I'll have to bring it back.
