You think you've got a bad one - connect EVERYTHING, including door sill light!

I saw a video on youtube with instructions on how to replace the power window (pre 2008 pilot) from 1A Auto, the video is good but they are reinstalling the part they just put in the first have taken out part of the video. At one point they just very briefly mention that if the glass mounting holes don't line up (they most likely won't line up unless you put what you just took out like in the video) then they say you should To do it, simply plug in the modules, turn on the ignition and use the up/down buttons to align the holes. Spring. I did this and almost decided I was getting a bad unit. Until I got back to the reviews and some smart person mentioned that the connector on the bottom outside edge of the door needs to be wired too! It's the one that goes to the LIGHT DOWN by the door. Crazy design, but after that it worked. My guess is that some kind of energy is being channeled through this light. So if you're having trouble, maybe this will help. PS I have followed the procedure to reset the auto on/off function but to no avail. It suits me, it doesn't matter.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Out of fashion
