Review on Effortless Cheese and Chocolate Grating with Black & Decker GG200 Electric Gismo Grater by Jane Crawford

Thank God!: Graters, Vegetable Slicers & Slicers

I was talking to my mom about wedding favors the other day and I told her how excited I was about the Gizmo electric grater we signed up for and that I was having it on the expected the most gift and how I dreamed it was so easy to grate slides and slides with cheese and how when we got it was perhaps the biggest disappointment of my life. (Yes, I was adopted.) And I remembered that for the last 6 months I wanted to write a devastating review of this product and I forgot! But I got here and thank god everyone has already written scathing reviews. If other reviews don't make it clear, DO NOT BUY! Mine hasn't made it to Goodwill yet (since I can't just throw things away), so it's collecting dust and taking up valuable shelf space in my kitchen. But I assure you it will NEVER be used. It's really useless. I agree with a previous reviewer who described it as hysterically loud. Unfortunately, this is probably his most redeeming quality. The least positive trait is that if you "grate" a hard, hard cheese like cheddar, you end up with a pile of shredded and grated slime, much like Velveeta steps on a long-pile carpet. The best result of owning this grater is my newfound appreciation for the simplicity of hand-grated cheese. Handwork gives me a real sense of accomplishment and pride. Don't be fooled by a random reviewer giving this item 2 stars! I would love to give 0 stars but since I have to give at least 1 star I might be able to find a use for it. maybe to scare the cat when it jumps on my kitchen table?
