Review on White 4 Port USB 3.0 Hub with AC Adapter by Amazon Basics - Slim, High-Speed Hub for MacBook, Mac Pro, iMac, Surface Pro and More by Sal Muniz

Stopped working after a few days

*Update* doesn't work. I had 2 things plugged in way below the power limit and the hub kept shutting down. Tested on two computers: Surface Pro 4 and Xbox Series X. Same results *End of update* I bought this in a hurry because I needed a powered USB3 hub. As I was in a hurry I didn't bother to look at the pictures, I just looked at the Amazon branded and USB3 hub. So I had no idea there were only 2 USB3 ports and the rest (useless to me) was USB3. Luckily I only needed 2 ports for external SSDs. So be careful. To be honest, it's better to use an Amazon Basics USB3 4-port hub because all 4 ports are USB3. In the end it was my fault for not doing my due diligence and looking at the list. I figured since this is an amazon base product and the name is USB3 hub I was set. I don't know why they even make a powered USB hub that's mostly USB2 connectors. USB3 is being replaced by USB3.1, so it's normal to see USB2 in a fairly new product. Strange. I also VERY like the connector that goes to the hub. This is one of those unusual and incredibly delicate USB connectors often found on older external hard drives. It wears out when you unplug it. Luckily mine never gets touched until I buy another hub because I bought it to connect external SSDs to my Xbox X series. 2 of these official SATA drives plus an m.2 drive housed in an external enclosure that occupies another USB3 port on the back of the Xbox.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • No paint needed
