Installation was easy enough but this thing just didn't work. Several times when hooking it up I tried repositioning the receiver and blaster transmitters by gluing them back and forth to the front of the cable box in the IR receiver area, mounting them in a cabinet, back and forth etc. Out of probably 30 I have it tries different placement combinations, the best i could do was 10% work rate. The receiver light always worked but either had trouble sending a signal to the blasters or the blasters didn't work. I'm fed up and sending it back. Worth no more than my time. I recommend keeping your distance. For reference, I tried using this with a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4250HDC cable box (Time Warner) and a Panasonic DMR-E55 DVD burner. I had no luck with the latter, but the former (cable box) gave me a 10% response rate. The description above even states that it works with Scientific Atlanta's new cable boxes. Not really. At the moment I am struggling with X10 POWERMID Remote Control Extender Kit PM5900 but it only gives me 70% answer. We'll be trying out the Logitech Harmony IR Extender System (Black) soon and will post a review there in a couple of weeks.
