Bought to make my own aftermarket RV wiring cables. Worth every penny. It's smaller than expected but pretty sturdy. I've made some cables using 4/0 weld wire, 2 AWG weld wire, 1 AWG Thhn, and 6 AWG stranded wire. This crimper did it all. Pro Tip: Use good quality copper ferrules that are appropriate for the gauge of wire you are crimping. Find a solid surface, concrete or steel will do. Use a small 2-4 pound sled that is comfortable to steer with one hand. Hold the tip firmly against the wire with one hand and hammer at least the first hit or two with the other hand. Start with a decent tap just to get the crimping tool into the tab so it doesn't slip off on the next tap. 4-5 good hits (for 4/0, less for thin wire), you will hear a change in tone as you compress that wire and turn it into almost solid metal at the crimp. If that sound changes, you're crimped! No adjustments are required between wires of different sizes, it is self-adjusting. I also added some solder to my connections. I found this worked best: premelt the copper wire and the inside of the tip, then crimp as directed, then heat and add solder (some of my larger tips didn't have tip holes except for the big one). So I drilled a 1/8" or so diameter hole in the tip to add solder. Works great but honestly you don't even need to solder these connections. The crimper makes them so strong! Recommend shrink wrap, nice and thick with adhesive inside Reinforces connections, makes it waterproof and looks professional
