Review on USCAMEL Binoculars Rangefinder Birdwatching Boating Army by Daniel Taylor

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The military look of the MIL-SPEC mimic is complete nonsense.

I don't often write negative reviews - mostly because I spend so much time checking my purchases before I make them and that's why I'm happy with my purchases. These binoculars don't have a regular cut, and here's why: Out of the box (2016-04-28): - The packaging was ordinary and smelled like Chinese import, which blew away MIL-SPEC gear - The light-colored strap to put on the shoulder or neck is neon yellow while MIL-SPEC Green binoculars, MIL-SPEC Green case and MIL-SPEC Green lens caps - Lens caps do not fit properly and fall off when binoculars are removed from box. (both eye caps and lens caps) First field use (09/02/2016 - 09/04/2016): - Fingerprints IN BOTH eyepieces noticed! - Focus adjusted the eyepiece for the first time and found loose plastic threads in the eyepiece - cannot be removed or cleaned as far as I know - Sealant is applied excessively to the lens barrel with visible leakage when adjusting - The rangefinder adjustment is loose and binds when it is rotated (like there are no gears or grease) ). or something you would expect from an optical device in this price range - simply freely rotating layers. tic) Conclusions: - The binoculars are poorly assembled and poorly tested by the manufacturer - The binoculars work within their market range, but there's nothing special about it - The range determination is done by calculations, not automatically (in case some of you are wondering) - It's unlikely that High will stand the test of time or withstand typical wear and tear. I would not buy these binoculars again and regret not having used them until I can return them. The distance function (which led me to this model) is only partially useful as you need to be able to approximate the size/height of the focus sources before GUESSING their distance. Also, this is the part that REALLY pisses me off. This is clearly a private model of binoculars that ANY seller can offer under their own name and resell to the public under the guise of an item of value. I've seen this exact model on Revain at least 4 times with different manufacturer names (e.g. USCAMEL, MERYTES, BNISE, AOMEKIE etc), different prices and pretty much the same description. For optics in this price range, you can do MUCH better with Vortex and even Bushnell. In short, I am VERY dissatisfied with this purchase and wish I had chosen a more reputable and reliable brand.
