The vibrator should wake up even a deep sleeper like me, if you put it under the pillow it will wake you up. However, they could have made the alarm a little louder. It's just a relatively quiet beep (although it will probably wake MOST people, I'm a heavy sleeper and without a vibrator the alarm clock doesn't wake me up. I actually use it in conjunction with the Sonic Bomb vibrating alarm clock, with a vibrator underneath my watch pillow and the other under the mattress If I manage to sleep through it all, that's a problem!
