Review on Foscam FI8918W Wireless Camera Viewing by Fred Whitehead

What a disappointment. I have owned this camera for almost 2 years. It worked fine except sometimes there were issues with the reset function and the sound didn't work at all. I've decided to update the firmware (as I've successfully done before). I followed the very detailed instructions they included in the download file for fear of doing it wrong as they warn that doing so could disable your camera. Regardless, my camera froze completely and I spent 2 hours with a tech support rep trying to reset it. Nothing worked. He helped me email the RMA replacement department so I believed I was getting a replacement. 2 days later I received an email that my camera was out of warranty (I already knew about it). Basically, if it works well for you, don't update it. In this case, call tech support and ask them to do it through Team Viewer. I will try drops.
