These hard drive screws are pretty simple and straightforward. I used these because I was removing the hard drive carrier from my case and therefore needed to move my 3.5" hard drive into the 5.25" drive bay. At the same time I was thinking that metal on metal could make some pretty loud power driven noises. So in the name of silence I used these screws with a metal adapter I linked below: 3.5" to 5.25" Hard Drive Bay Mounting Bracket Hard Drive Adapter Metal Kit Pros: - These screws definitely do the job. I was really surprised at how well they deaden the noise, I can barely hear my drive except when it first kicks in - the rubber washers themselves seem to be of good quality. I had to struggle a lot with them to get into a tight gap on my adapter and also tugged and tugged them a few times. But the metal didn't damage them as far as I can see. Cons: - Price. When I bought them they cost over a dollar a screw. That's a lot of money for something so easy and cheap to make. - There are no installation instructions. While it should be obvious, it would be nice to have a simple picture in the box showing where the washing machine is located. (For those unsure, the washer should sit so that half of the rubber is between your hard drive and the metal bracket and the other half is on the other side between the metal bracket and the screw head) - The screw head is large. For me personally this was a problem installing with my adapter as they didn't fit on the bottom row of my adapter. Luckily the adapter also has a top row of mounting options so I was able to use it and it didn't really matter. That being said, depending on the mounting situation, this can make a huge difference. - Screw head can be easily removed. I ended up having to screw and unscrew some of them a few times to set them up properly and in doing so, a couple of the screw heads ripped off a bit. Slightly disappointing price. Overall, I rate these screws 4 stars. They're expensive and have drawbacks, but in the end they exceeded my expectations for quiet operation.
