- When I originally reviewed this item the price was fair as it is an unnamed brand so it should cost a lot less than tried and true well known brands. Now that it received a few positive reviews, they decided to raise the price to the level of a well-known brand. If you're willing to pay that much for a thermal imaging projector, I recommend Arcadia with a proven track record of quality products. I have many reptiles and use different heating methods. I'm always looking for different heating options and saw this bulb in stock. It looks like a more expensive brand so I decided to give it a try. My first thoughts about him are positive. I connected it and did some tests, this lamp heats up well while the lamp body stays relatively cold. The coil does reach a temperature of around 600 degrees, but you should expect a lot of heat. You should definitely avoid doing this if the bulb could touch something flammable or fusible. I will update this review in the future if anything changes. Unless the materials that make it up are of good quality, I suspect it should have a lifespan of a few years.
