We couldn't see the screen of our original remote for months. We tried new batteries (well, we thought they were new); The volume controls worked, but we couldn't read the screen. My husband asked me to order this remote control. We're going to try today and you know what? The volume controls work, but the screen is not visible. We just bought 4 AAA batteries over the weekend (free at our local grocery store as a Monopoly price). On a whim I decided to try these batteries. Well it was a miracle! We can read the screen on both remotes! Moral of the story: try new batteries before buying a replacement remote.
