I see no reason to spend more money on a necklace. I expect to drive at least 5,000 miles before noticeable chain stretch occurs. For me that's about a year of cycling, give or take. And at around $25, it's almost perfect. I see no point in doubling that cost for a wear component. Notes: Factory oil is one hell of a sticky mess you'll ever encounter, but it runs silently. If you like, you can throw it in a bucket of degreaser (or ultrasonic cleaner) to remove the factory oil and replace it with a lube of your choice. If not, chances are your chain will turn black after a few rides. You will probably need a tool to install the master link. Yes, you can install without it by applying pressure to the handle, but the 2-in-1 Master Link tool makes it easy. The main link included *can* be reused. It has a notch and the model says "R" for reusable use. Update 2021: Wow, well they appear to have doubled in price due to supply chain issues. Now go for SRAM or really just the cheapest 11sp (except Campy which isn't compatible). A chain is a chain.
