Light weight, good price, high compatibility, quality chain.

I currently use it with a 1x11 SRAM PG 1130 cassette, X01 rear derailleur and a Wolf Tooth 34T mountain bike ring. Last season I used it with the same cassette and two different rings; SRAM NX 32T ring and RaceFace Cinch 34T. The circuit worked without any problems with any configuration. Pros: - Driven 340 miles before replacing due to stretching - Quiet - Never failed, shot over or dropped - Works well with a quality switch (Topeak, Park) - Good quality - Good price - Lightweight - Compatible

Lasted less than 100 meters

I replaced an old Shimano chain with this chain. It shifted great on the maintenance level and seemed like good value for the money. I can't skate because of an injury. I was finally able to ride my bike this morning and when I tried to do my first shift the chain came loose. I stopped and tried to fix it; However, the chain is severely twisted. I've never had a chain twist like that before. I went home, put the old Shimano chain back on and hit the road with no further problems. I will be…

Can rust. Roll.

Good price, easy to install. However, after about a month of use, I noticed what looked like rust on the rollers. Yes, my chain does get wet sometimes, I wash it with high pressure water, but I always dry it and use Dupont Chain Saver about once a week. My Shimano chain, same service; I never noticed any rust. My Motobecane came with a Shimano Ultegra 11 speed chain that has done over 5000 miles and I have never seen rust. Please note that this may not be a problem, but is a problem at the…

Enjoy shopping for Transmission Components

I see no reason to spend more money on a necklace. I expect to drive at least 5,000 miles before noticeable chain stretch occurs. For me that's about a year of cycling, give or take. And at around $25, it's almost perfect. I see no point in doubling that cost for a wear component. Notes: Factory oil is one hell of a sticky mess you'll ever encounter, but it runs silently. If you like, you can throw it in a bucket of degreaser (or ultrasonic cleaner) to remove the factory oil and replace it with

Chain broke on first ride (not quick link)

Overall I have had good experiences with KMC chains but this is definitely not one of those experiences. My apologies for not being able to share the photo with everyone, but the chain broke during the first ride when I was checking the initial gear settings. It didn't break at the quick connect but at the rivet. I didn't put too much stress on the transmission at the time either. It's VERY likely that I just got stuck in a faulty circuit. It's probably some kind of quality control issue and…
