Review on Viborg LP320B HiFi Vinyl Record Weight: Long Play Disc Stabilizer, 11.3 Ounce Turntable Clamp with Bubble Level by Matt Charlton

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great record weight but no "velvety felting on the bottom "

I've never felt the need for record weight but recently bought a record with "cymbal warpage" that slipped over the platter mat. while playing it sounded like it was getting slower and faster. The record weight seemed like the perfect solution. This Viborg looks great, is heavy enough for what I need and is a good price compared to other record weights on the market. The spirit level appears to be accurate: the reading does not change when the weight is rotated. My only gripe (which I deducted a star for) is that the description says it has "velvety felt on the bottom". Mine is solid aluminum and looks just like the product photos. I would prefer a felt or rubber coating on the base when dropping it (inevitably) onto the record so as not to damage the record. The specs are practically accurate: mine weighs 324 grams and is 41 mm high. It's quite large and will fit under the dust cover of my Audio-Technica AT-LP120X (which has an empty space) but not under the dust cover of my U-Turn Orbit. Measure before you buy. Vyborg sells a shorter (34mm) record weight that is lighter (280g) and cheaper. Made in China label.

Pros
  • price
Cons
  • loose change

Product has a good weight and seem to work well. The bubble level included is a plus.
