Porous design. in Accessories & Consumables

To be honest I thought this 4 foot antenna was going to be a hit. Unfortunately, if I buy 3 of them, it has many problems.1. The rubber cover is tight and swollen. Undressing is a nightmare. As soon as you start twisting and knocking off the rubber cap, the copper bolt's silver solder coil will break. Also, the tiny wrench to loosen the adjusting screw is too small.2. The black wire is not grounded. I found out by checking that it is a common cable. VALUE is the middle needle on the coax, this is HOT3. The package I received does not contain any documentation or information about the antenna or the black cable. GOOGLE information on this did not help at all4. Soldering silver wire to a copper pin is terrible. I rebuilt and re-soldered it because it broke a couple of times after removing the rubber cap. To get a comfortably low SWR of 1.5 to 1.1 with this antenna, cut 1.5 inch fiber and a silver spool from the end of the antenna. Solder the silver wire back onto the copper stud. Depending on where you mount your antenna, you will get a very good signal. Mine is on the 2014 4runner and it's almost perfect.6. Make sure you don't cut it and connect the black wire to ground as the user suggests. It must be reconnected to the antenna.7. Make sure the antenna is not attached directly to a metal bracket. Insert plastic spacers to avoid short circuits.8. Bad design. It is not durable or reliable.9. Much luck!
