Documentation missing for product

This product comes without documentation, I had to contact the seller who just sent me a link to a personal website of a man in Europe experimenting with this product. . I was expecting the seller to provide the manufacturer's documentation so I could understand what this product can and can't do. There is no engraving on chipset board except ESP32-S, so you better search AI-Thinker ESP32-CAM on internet. Of the two modules I received, one did not work properly when flashed as instructed: the only result I could get in the console was a reset in a loop. After many hours of struggle I was finally able to get it working with the ESP32 DEV board, set the flash frequency to 40MHz and enabled PSRAM in the Arduino IDE and it finally worked. I don't know why, but the other module worked very well right away, without any manipulation. In fact, considering the price of this product, you shouldn't be expecting 4K video and you won't be getting such a resolution anyway. Max resolution is decent for such a small thing, but image quality is mediocre at best, not to mention lag due to image size at high resolutions. If you just need to keep an eye on something just to see what's going on do it, if you need a security camera this is not the product you want and there is no night vision at all.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • price piggy bank
