This is a great backup unit. It quickly copied my files to my hard drive. More importantly, it was very easy to find what I wanted. A few years ago the Seagate software was terrible and I couldn't find my files. There are a number of troublesome and unnecessarily complicated elements. (1) The "Toolkit" (software) is set to run automatically at startup. There is a button to disable this. I disabled it in MS CONFIGURATION - STARTUP. (2) The device did not appear on my computer. There are instructions on how to solve this. Go to DEVICE MANAGER to find the disk number. You go to DISK MANAGEMENT to assign a drive letter. Then it appears. (3) The menu (""Toolkit") is inconvenient for the user as they try to force you to subscribe to their cloud service (SYNC). The menu is easy to navigate but difficult. (4) When the backup is complete, it will not appear in the Backup section, it will appear in the Tools section, find out (5) After using this software for 1 month, I will not use it anymore .It's hard to use.The worst thing is that some folders are skipped (normal folders that are not protected by the system.)I will use another software provider.
