This appears to be a great product

This appears to be a great product. I use the word "seems" because it's really impossible to tell unless someone is trying to take your car/trailer/RV. At the same time, the build quality is reliable. It is made from heavy duty steel and is powder coated with rubber tips to protect the rim from scratches. Due to the assembly, it is relatively heavy and stays in place once installed. There's a handy locking lid to keep dirt out of the key slots, which is a good thing considering it has to be on the floor. Rim, there will be play. In my opinion, the lock feature is only meant to prevent theft. The only way to ensure it is used as a wheel chock is to move the car/trailer forward/backward to ensure the wheel/rim is resting on the lock itself. This can potentially make removal difficult until you get the car back. I bring this up because I see this first as a "block" and then as a potential block. The padlock/lock prevents the vehicle from moving. It is therefore advisable to ensure that your trailer is securely and otherwise locked. This lock/lock should be used as a secondary lock and not a primary lock. If it's used in a motorized vehicle like your car/truck, then it's not a big deal as it has parking brakes, parking gears, etc. I am specifically referring to trailers that do not have their own parking brake systems, such as B. Caravan . .As mentioned before I use this to add to an existing system. I use traditional chocks on my wheels as well as a hitch lock on my trailer as other means of securing my trailer. It cannot (at least I believe) be used as a general purpose device that can do both on its own. Overall, I highly recommend this product for its construction and the added layer of protection. If you are an RV lover, this may not be necessary if you are actually traveling as most RVs take care of each other. However, if you're parking your RV, you might want to consider this to complement your existing system.

Pros
  • Rubber grips protect the surface of the wheel
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly
