Please make sure your PoE injector is working properly before using

I had a long time problem with this device pulsing between 5V and 3V DC. . It was actually the PowerDsine PoE injector that I used. I connected this device to a real PoE switch from work and the problem was resolved. I then hooked it up to a newer PoE injector I had at home and the problem persisted. A word to the wise: use only with a PoE switch or known good PoE injector. This unit did NOT like the PowerDsine injector I had. All in all it does what I need, so I'm satisfied.
