I have owned Tomtom Go 930T for 2 years, it works fine except for poor voice reception when connected via Bluetooth and expensive map updates. So I decided to buy a new tomtom with lifetime traffic and maps through 1453tm. What's good: 1. Fast QPS signal. The maximum is 30 seconds. 2. Great suction cup, but you can't avoid touching the car glass, which may leave fingerprints. The materials of the product are good, durable and don't look cheap. 3. Target bids left or right of the road with a time error. 4. Also update maps and traffic. Since I bought this for a month, I have already updated the map twice. On our trip to St. Louis, Missouri, it indicated an overturned car on the traffic sidebar, but it was half a mile from the advertised distance. though not bad. 5. Better screen resolution. 6. Best voice connection on bluetooth phone. The bad: 1. Since they changed the layout, the status bar has gotten so big that the map appears smaller. 2. The touch screen is terrible. tapping an address with the on-screen keyboard misses by 50%. Speech recognition is fine. 3. I need some time to get used to turning on this device. There is no indicator light that the card is on/charging. 4. Lane Assist sometimes doesn't tell you the existing number but rather the direction of the location. In Atlanta, when driving on I-285 toward GA 400, go930T is the exit number, but 1453tm is the destination city. the same on I-16 in Macon to Atlanta. go930t gives the source number, but 1453tm only lists "atlant". 5. Can only get the voice telling us Samantha's street names (English), plus one in Spanish and one in French. I prefer the guy's voice to give me directions, but Richard for us (English) doesn't say the street names. My go930t also has other voice functions. 6. no remote control. go930t has one. a nice feature than trying to reach the screen when mounted on glass. Conclusion: Works, but could be better. I would like about 1535tm instead, which has a larger screen size and the map doesn't look smaller with a large status bar. I assume the 1435tm and 1535tm have the same specs apart from the screen size and a $10-$20 difference here on Amazon. Why is my go930t more intuitive on the touchscreen than the newer 1435tm product? I'm keeping this unit and I'm hoping Tomtom will update their software, especially the touchscreen.
