Amazing but could be better. The touch screen needs an update!

I have owned Tomtom Go 930T for 2 years, it works fine except for poor voice reception when connected via Bluetooth and expensive map updates. So I decided to buy a new tomtom with lifetime traffic and maps through 1453tm. What's good: 1. Fast QPS signal. The maximum is 30 seconds. 2. Great suction cup, but you can't avoid touching the car glass, which may leave fingerprints. The materials of the product are good, durable and don't look cheap. 3. Very reliable GPS electronics

Ok I like it mostly because it was such a good deal from Revain Warehouse. I gave my old TomTom to a friend and bought a new one. As a GPS it's not much different from the old one, but lifetime maps were an asset. (If I had updated maps on an old TomTom, two updates would have cost more than this new device!) Connecting the phone to the Bluetooth car kit was another great benefit. I was expecting the voice recognition feature to be slick, but once you know what to say it's actually pretty handy

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not sure

Nice unit though. suitable for electronics

I recently bought a 4.3 inch TomTom Via 1405 GPS navigator as an upgrade to an old 2007 TomTom One Third Edition. I was planning an extended trip across Canada and wanted something new, faster and bigger. I also wanted "map updates for life" which is now a popular and inexpensive add-on at the time of purchase. Purchasing through Revain was easy - as always. Some impressions - the device is light, well made and starts quickly. However, I immediately noticed that this device is noticeably dimmer

Pros
  • Absolutely brilliant!

  • Not bad but...

Good maps, traffic info and normal voice recognition

Full disclosure - I'm a big TomTom fan and this is an upgrade from an old TomTom Go 300 that I've had for 7 years. That's one of the reasons I really like these devices - they seem to last forever. I hope this one lasts just as long, but now on to that. The new lifetime maps and traffic features that GPS companies are offering really drew me to this model. I absolutely hated buying a new map every year or so, especially when you know that about 98% of the old map is still usable and only a…
