I love these things! I use them in guitar making to attach the neck to the body. They are made of brass and are made in such a way that the outer threads cut into the wood and stay in place. You can then thread the brass screw through the neck block into the (again) finely machined internal thread. Tighten them and pull the neck joint right where it should be. (Note: The screws shown in the picture need to be purchased separately). This system is ideal for an amateur musician like me. I'm sure there are hundreds of other uses for it. The brass is perfect. The functions are finely worked out. Fiction!
